Another visit to the Hospital!

This morning we had another Dr. appointment, we have seen her Dr. at least once a week since she was born. She isn't gaining weight like she should, she is still vomiting alot of her formula and she is just really irritable after she eats. All things that shouldn't be happening while we are on this new formula. So she sent us to the hospital for an upper GI, lower GI and also a sonogram. After all the tests were run the Dr. that did the GI showed me she has excessive acid reflux and that is probably what is causing the vomiting and the irritability plus when we lay her down at night to sleep she can't that is probably because it hurts her to lay flat, he said that the acid is moving out of her stomach into her throat and mouth and causing her pain. So she is now on acid reflux medication and hopefully that will help her feel better and gain some weight, the flap that covers the stomach and prevents the movement of the stuff from her stomach into her throat isn't properly formed therefore causing the problem. The sonogram came back normal with no blokeages or abnormalities found in her intestines so we are hoping all the problems are caused by the acid reflux. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this medication does the trick. I never expected to have been in so many Dr.'s offices or hospitals within the first five weeks of her life. Hopefully this isn't just a start of what is to come.

I hope you find a "fix" soon. She sure is a pretty baby!
